Every year, without fail, we celebrate Christmas. The birth of our Saviour, the most significant event ever in history. A season to contemplate love and show kindness to our fellowmen. A time of merry-making and joyous festivities.

On a cold afternoon of the 12th of October 2013, we were warm and snug at Engerthstrasse 214 in the second district of Vienna, where we celebrated Christmas together with friends and relatives. It was a real treat to experience Christmas carols, decorations and food uniquely fused with our traditional dance and other forms of art while frolicking, romping, laughing children took centre stage.

Many may wonder why we celebrated too early when December is still two months away? We ask back: why not? After all, we believe that the spirit of Christmas should prevail throughout the year. Everyday can be Christmas for as long as we practice kindness, love and peace.

And we had another special reason, too. We wanted to raise funds early enough to enable less fortunate people back home to experience and feel the spirit of Christmas as early as November. Thanks to the voluntary donations from our members and guests, the amount of Two Hundred Euros is now ready to be sent to the beneficiaries.

The said amount is just one of our many ways of helping our fellowmen. We have another fundraiser that is receiving overwhelming response: our tombola! The draw will take place on the 24th of May at our Grand Cañao 2014 event.

Tickets are running out so please hurry to get the chance to win the Grand Prize ticket, a round trip ticket for one (Vienna-Manila-Vienna) plus round trip ticket for two for the Cordillera Scenery Package (Manila- Cordillera-Manila)....

The Cordillera Scenery Package is not your usual tour. The tombola grand prize winner is guaranteed to see sights and things he would not see on his own or with commercial tour groups. The programme we have arranged provides unique insight into the richness and complexity of Igorot culture and history and includes opportunities for exchange of information, questions, answers and new perspectives.

May the Spirit of Christmas be with you all throughout the year!
